Precise Fire provides testing and maintenance services to one of Sydney’s busiest restaurants.
Like many facilities, the restaurant has smoke baffles* which, from time to time, need to be reset.
Unfortunately for this restaurant, the winch used to reset the baffle was housed in a particularly difficult area to access within the dining area. This caused major disruption to the tenant and their operations, so resets had to be completed after hours.
Additionally, the access point and the tool used to reset the winch had the potential to cause injury.
Precise Fire’s Shey Spicer and Rolf Hauptman designed and manufactured a new ‘Reset’ tool to overcome these issues.
The tool means that technicians can now quickly, easily and safely access the reset mechanism during opening hours, minimising impact on the restaurant and its ability to continue trading.
Overall, it’s a great result for our client and our team.

*Smoke baffles are used to filter smoke to a high level to ensure better activation of the system and enable smoke ventilation to work effectively.
